Seward Ocean Excursions

Happy family with 4 limits of salmon!

Guests with limits of delicious and fun-to-catch silver salmon!

Often visitors to Seward have to choose between two different boating adventures: fishing or sightseeing. While you can see wildlife and scenery from fishing charters, it isn't the same as doing a sightseeing trip. And, of course, on a sightseeing trip there is no fishing!

Want the best of both worlds? Come on our combination sightseeing and fishing trips! The percentages of each can vary depending on what you want to see, where you want to go, and how much you want to fish (and what you want to fish for)! The choice is yours.

Perfect for families with kids, those with only a short time in Seward, and those who want to do it all, our combo trips offer the experience of a lifetime. Captains Bixler and Krystin have spent years fishing the local area and know where to go.

Sorry, but because we currently do not have a charter halibut permit, we cannot fish for halibut. However, we'd be happy to refer you to a halibut fishing charter company should you want to catch one!

We run this trip as an adventure, and promote a fun, friendly, informative, action packed, and low key fishing experience. Never caught a fish before? Want to see your kid catch his or her first fish? Want to do it all in one trip? Want to learn how to fish? This is the trip for you!

We target salmon and rockfish. Fishing seasons vary, with salmon fishing being best from late June until August. Rockfish can be caught year-round.

All tackle, gear, bait, and filleting is included. We have brand-new fishing gear and tackle for your enjoyment!

Never fished before or never fished in the ocean before? No problem! We will instruct and coach you on what to do!

We follow all Alaska Department of Fish and Game regulations. A valid Alaska fishing license on the date of your trip is required for adults. Alaska residents under age 18, and non-residents under age 16, do not need license. Check for fishing license prices here. Licenses can be obtained in Seward at The Fish House or online. Check out license FAQs here.

You are welcome to catch and release or retain your fish. After your charter, you'll leave the dock with bags of filleted fish ready to take home, eat, or bring to a processor (check out Captain Jack's Seafood Locker and J Dock Sportfishing) who will freeze, vacuum seal, store, and ship your fish for you.
