Often visitors to Seward have to choose between two different boating adventures: fishing or sightseeing. While you can see wildlife and scenery from fishing charters, it isn’t the same as doing a sightseeing trip. And, of course, on a sightseeing trip there is no fishing!

Want the best of both worlds? Come on our combination sightseeing and fishing trips! The percentages of each can vary depending on what you want to see, where you want to go, and how much you want to fish (and what you want to fish for)! The choice is yours.

Captain Bixler with an opening-day lingcod.

Perfect for families with kids, those with only a short time in Seward, and those who want to do it all, our combo trips offer the experience of a lifetime. Captains Bixler and Krystin have spent years fishing the local area and know where to go. Here are the species that we fish for:

  • All species of rockfish (Yelloweye, Black, etc.)
  • Silver (Coho) salmon
  • King (Chinook) salmon
  • Pink (Humpy) salmon
  • Lingcod
  • Pacific cod

Sorry, but because we currently do not have a charter halibut permit, we cannot fish for halibut. However, we’d be happy to refer you to a halibut fishing charter company should you want to catch one!

We run this trip as an adventure, and promote a fun, friendly, informative, action packed, and low key fishing experience. Never caught a fish before? Want to see your kid catch his or her first fish? Want to do it all in one trip? Want to learn how to fish? This is the trip for you!

We operate this trip year-round. Fishing seasons vary, with salmon fishing being best from June until August and lingcod opening on July 1. Rockfish, Pacific cod, and king salmon can be caught year-round.

All tackle, gear, bait, and filleting is included. We have brand-new fishing gear and tackle for your enjoyment! We follow all Alaska Department of Fish and Game regulations. A valid Alaska fishing license on the date of your trip is required. Check for fishing license prices here. Licenses can be obtained in Seward, or online. Check out license FAQs here. These trips have a 2 person minimum and a 6 person maximum.
